Basketball in high school and college

Going to a good college requires a lot of funds and puts financial pressure on the students.  They can now play basketball in college and get a sports scholarship. 

Though according to international regulations and rules, a basketball game has four 10 minute quarters and NBA has four 12 minute quarters, college basketball has two 12 minute halves and high school has four quarters of 8 minutes each. There is a fifteen minute break halfway through the game, and two minutes are allotted to the remaining breaks which can be taken anytime between the game. A five-minute overtime is given when a tie occurs. The teams exchange courts and baskets during half time.  A game should is forty minutes. But, the clock is stopped whenever the game is paused and the players are not playing. Hence, the game stretches to about two hours.

Every team has 5 players playing on the court, while the number of people in a team are actually 12. The number of substitutes is unlimited, but the only criteria is that a substitution can only be made when the game has been stopped.

The uniform comprises of shorts and a jersey which has the team member’s number written, both in the front and behind. The team’s name, team sponsor’s name and the player’s number is also written on the jerseys.
